Microsoft Surface 3 magnesium alloy body seems high quality similar to Pro line and it beats the competition in weight with its slight 1.37 pounds. The Redmond based company, Microsoft announced the Surface Pro 3 last year spring which suits between tablets and laptops. This year, 2015 march arrives the more simple, lightweight and cheaper Surface 3.
With 0.34-inch (8.7mm), this is the thinnest and lightest Surface device currently. The 1920 x 1280 resolution touchscreen with 3:2 aspect ratio gives great drawing and writing experience on the 10.8-inch display. Quad Core Intel Atom x7-Z8700 CPU ensures smooth computing with 1.6GHz which able to boost up to 2.4GHz. There are versions with 2GB RAM and 64GB storage or 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, obviously there is option for microSD card basically.
Surface 3 more convenient while traveling thanks to lightness body and stronger battery which provides 10 hours running time. Obviously WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 represents itself and LTE version is available too. There are more than enough ports for an average user, DisplayPort, USB 3.0, and a Micro-USB which is replaced the Microsoft’s previous proprietary magnetic charging cable. The main camera is 8MP and the front camera creates 3.5MP selfies.
Separately sold the Surface Pen which is great option for a high quality navigating and drawing experience. The essential keyboard cover had to be upgraded for the bigger screen basically. Although the previously covers slightly smaller then screen size, they’re still compatible with Surface 3. The kickstand capable for three different angles instead of two.
It seems, there is no more opportunity for Windows RT on Surface devices in the future. Full version of Windows installed on the Surface 3 already with the opportunity to upgrade. Surface 3 is a decent tablet with its high quality structure and capability for reasonable price.
